The history of our society J.B BERGER, S.A. began in 1878, when the Alsàcia’s matrimony between Joan Baptiste Berger Muller and his wife Apolònia dussord Meyer decided to settle in Vilafranca.



His fearless spirit and fascination for the Penedès’wines great quality led him to found in 38-39 "Comerç" street, a commercial society. This society was oriented to the wine’s export, being outstanding and acquiring a big commercial expansion in that particular epoch.

The founder died in 1919, but this traditional business was continued by his sons, who tried to give the society an important impulse by moving the installations in 1953 to the actual ones, that even owned railways that were meant to improve the export.

In the year 1984 the townhouse Masia Farreny (Olèrdola) was bought to expand our elaboration installations and to be able to offer a better quality of our white, rose and red wines with D.O. Cavas, a society that was rewarded and recognized in different competitions and contests by our foundation.
